Princess Rhea and Mars had twin boys . The king where the boys had lived was scared of them taking his throne so he put the boys in a basket in the Tiber river hoping they would die.
The boys were found, cared for and protected by a wolf. A woodpecker helped them find food. One day, a shepherd took the boys to be part of his family
The boys became very good leaders but, one day Remus was captured by the king. Romulus sent shepherds to save his brother. They killed the king. The boys learned their true identities. They were offered to become kings but they decided not to so they could begin a city of their own.
The twins both liked a place where Rome is now but couldn't decide which hill to to have it on. Romulus wanted the Palatine Hill but Remus wanted the Aventine Hill. They waited for an augory to determine the hill. But, they both claimed to get one.
I like this one.
No, THIS ONE!!!!!!
Romulus started to build his wall around the Palatine Hill. Remus saw it and made fun of how it wouldn't keep anybody out so he jumped over it. Romulus became annoyed and killed him.
Romulus finished his city and named it after himself. It was called Rome. It was founded on April 21, 753 b.c. He chose 100 men to become patricans. The elders were the Senate. He organized his army of 3300 men into legions. For 1000 years Rome was very powerful.
