- Men named as "the sons of liberty" were the people who protested against the new taxes. They were led by Samual Adams and they would burn the tax collectors homes.
- The quartering act of 1765 implied that the colonists were required to provide for the British soldiers. They had to provide food, bedding, and shelter.
- The townshend act of 1767 taxed imported goods. Some imported goods at the time were tea, glass, led, paper and silk.
