the fall of rome
The empire especially suffered when Emperor Constantine took power. He divided Rome into two parts: East and West. Rome collapsed and lost it's provinces one by one by barbarians.
Many historians believe that the reasons mentioned as well as population decline,a weakening economy, and the inability to provide necessities to it's citizens caused the fall of Rome. The last of the roman emperors was overthrown by Germanic leader Odoacer.
