Storyboard Text

  • Introduction
  • "Where are we going?"
  • Part 1
  • "Daniel, please take the children into the other room.
  • Part 2
  • "Get in!"
  • "My name Daniel.  I am 14 years  old and I am Jewish.  I got on a train two months ago with my mother, father, my sister and about 100 other Jews from Frankfurt.  I don't know where we are going but what I do know is that we are not in Frankfurt anymore.
  • Part 3
  • A small box, tied with a string, and a note.  Auntie Leah grabbed the note, I tore open the box.  But no body knew what it was.  Was it some strange joke of Uncle Peter's? Sending a box full of ashes?  Auntie Leah started to cry.  Mother took the note from her and read it.  When they looked at the children, they began to cry because their mother was crying.  Finally it dawned on me, those were  Uncle Peter's ashes, he was dead.  The Nazi's had sent us his ashes.
  • Part 4
  • "Get up keep working, you lazy idiot!"
  • My mother, my father, my sister, and I were all rushed into a ghetto with thousands of other Jews.  The SS guard screamed as we were rushed into the ghetto.

  • Father and I were assigned a spot near the gate, where the first explosion was.  Father and I fired at the guards.  Both dropped wounded and one exchanged fire and he hit father in the arm.  Before the guard could even respond, he dropped dead from his wounds.
  • "Father No!"
  • I walked outside and saw a young, boy, a Jew,  was sweeping the walkway.  The SS officer informed the boy that he had missed a spot of dirt.  As the child ran to sweep it up, the SS man shot him in the leg.  The child fell forward crying.  " Get up and keep working!", the officer yelled.  As the boy struggled to get up, he continued to sweep.  The officer repeated himself and shot the child in the other leg.  The child couldn't get up so the officer emptied his gun into the child's body.
