Cyber bullying is done over things like email, text, social media...basically any technology.
What's cyber bullying?
Did you know: 34% of students report experiencing cyberbullying (Patchin, 2015).
Sure. Cyber bullying is now the most common form of bullying...maybe because you hide from people and it's hard to get caught.
Can you tell me more about cyber bullying? And why is it so common?
You know, boys are bullied more than girls on the playground...
But girls are CYBERbullied WAY more than boys!
And then there was the terrible case of a 12 year old girl in Florida who took her life after being harassed by 2 boys online. They spread AWFUL rumors about her. It is almost impossible to fix your online "reputation" because the content won't go away.
Did you know that 1 in 6 teens have been contacted online by a stranger in an inappropriate way made them feel "uncomfortable."
So, is there anything we can do to prevent cyberbullying?
Thanks for all the amazing facts!
Tell your parents and let them know what you do online. Oh and, don't forward or retweet negative or mean content!
And don't forget to always be kind to others online.
