Your condition is stable and we will keep doing the best we can.
Why won't you give me my job back?
Someone has already been hired to replace you. I'm so sorry.
Phineas Gage worked on railroads and had a tool called a tamping iron. This tool was used for road work and preparing the concrete for work. The tamping iron went through Phineas's skull during an accident at his job. A spark caught on some dynamite and blew up sending the iron and Phineas flying. Causing the rod to go through his head.
Phineas was lucky to survive the accident, but he will never act or be the same. The bacteria that got in his brain did not help him and parts of his brain and skull was damaged. The part that the rod went through controlled his thinking and decision making.
He recovered from the accident and survived for 11 years after it. He tried to go and get his job after his injury but they had already hired someone to take his place. He was furious that they wouldn't give it to him. His brain has changed him and how he would act. Phineas Gage is someone we still learn brain science about today.
