On February 14 1775 The American Militia defeated loyalists in Wilkes County (Present-day Washington, Georgia) this fight was called the Battle of Kettle Creek.
Three great men lead the fight in the Battle of Kettle Creek. The person on the far left is John Dooly, he was a war hero also he commanded a regiment during the Battle of Kettle Creek. The person in the middle is Andrew Pickens lead a militia and was a part of the U.S house of representatives. The man on the far right was Elijah Clarke he was a military office for the U.S.
The Patriots were not attacking British soldiers they were attacking loyalists. Even still the loyalist did not sit back and let the Patriots attack they fought back.
At the end of the battle on the British side it was a dramatic defeat. 40-70 loyalist died and 75 were wounded or taken by the patriots.
The Americans diffidently won the fight. With only 7-9 deaths and 14-23 wounded or not found it was the deciding factor for the Battle of Kettle Creek.
