  • This Malay man catcher will work.
  • This story takes place somewhere in the Caribbean sea on an island called ship-trap island. One of the characters is Rainsford. Rainsford shows bravery, confidence, and intelligence during the story.
  • The Most Dangerous Game Richard Connell
  • Rainsford shows his bravery by speaking out to Zaroff's crazy hunting ideas. Rainsford does this several times during the story. Even though he is aware of possibly being tortured or killed because of it.
  • The Most Dangerous Game Richard Connell
  • Rainsford shows confidence in himself by setting the Malay man catcher.Rainsford shows confidence through his actions by making traps.
  • The Most Dangerous Game Richard Connell
  • "I see."
  • Rainsford also makes other traps during the story. Rainsford shows his confidence again with traps. If the trap fails, he could very well die from his mistake, or Zaroff's  pure luck.
  • "You've done well, Rainsford."
  • Rainsford shows his intelligence through his actions. Rainsford swims back to the chateau instead of walking through the jungle. This is faster and easier to do. This in the end pays off for his survival.
  • This way should be faster.
  • Rainsford also shows his intelligence by saying clever things. He makes several remarks in the story that show this. 
  • "I'm still a beast at bay."
