  • Macbeth is told that Duncan's son Malcolm will become hire to the throne after he was told that he would become a king. Macbeth also his told that everyone will go to Macbeth's house to celebrate. Filled with anger and blind ambition he plans Duncan's murder.
  • Lady Macbeth is sent a letter by Macbeth that says how he was to become a king and how Duncan was coming to their house. This lead Lady Macbeth to give herself dark intentions to kill Duncan and become royalty.
  • The day after the murder of King Duncan the sun did not rise and brought confusion to Ross and the old man. This resembles what Lady Macbeth said:"O never Shall sun that morrow see."(1.5.59-60).
