Storyboard Text

  • A horse herd was near starving, for it was early spring and the grass was still short and bitter in most places. Because it had been a harsh winter, a horse herd had to find better grazing grounds. Although the horse herd had been traveling fast, they couldn't find a good field or meadow. In order to escape famine, the horse herd would have to find a suitable field fast.
  • When the horse herd finally found a meadow that was suitable for them, they grazed and played peacefully. Even though it was a bit unfair and selfish, some horses took up a whole patch of clover for themselves. There was enough food for all the horses, and all of them were grateful for all of it.
  • Just in the forest next to the field, wolves noticed the horses. Since they all needed food after the long winter, they decided to attack the horse herd. After the alpha signaled them, they began to hunt.
  • Before the horses knew what was happening, wolves surrounded them and attacked. A state of panic spread through the herd, so most fled. As most horses stampeded through the field, the lead stallion, the lead mare, and their foal fought.
  • As the wolves were about to attack the two horses and foal as a group, other horses in the herd came back and fought with the three brave horses. The wolves were outnumbered and soon they tucked tail and left. Before the wolves ran into the forest, the alpha wolf tried to dive for the foal. But the foal didn't give up, and he chased off the alpha wolf, kicking out with his hooves.
  • Because the horses fought, they gained power over their new territory and the wolves were never seen again.
