  • The Punic Wars 264 -146 BCE
  • The Romans were losing to the Carthage's navy skills. Romans used huge hooks and stationed soldiers on ships, it would result in battling which romans were really good at.
  • Romans
  • Why are they attacking? They have no naval experience. 
  • They have no idea what our plan is!
  • Romans
  • We are obviously going to win. We have way more experience.
  • Carthaginians  surprisingly  led their elephants  and men from spain to Italy. However, he never invaded Rome because there weren't enough men. 
  • Second Punic War  (Africa) 218 BCE
  • keep going east!
  • we picked up some Italian troops.
  • Good, we can invade Rome at last.
  • Unable to defeat Hannibal in Italy, a Roman army sailed across the Mediterranean, landed in North Africa, and headed for Carthage. Rome takes the win.
  • 218 BCE Second Punic War Italy 
  • Whats so different now? 
  • Romans
  • We are more prepared to win.
  • We need to try again!
  • Carthage was on a low after the Second Punic War. The Carthaginians started to rebuild their cities and they refused to move inland. Another war breaks out and Rome wins.
  • I advise you guys to move back.

  • Carthage was destroyed while Rome became one of the greatest empires we know. Romans continued to expand. Remaining people from cities did have to go into slavery.
