Storyboard Text

  • Getting the Hearing Aids
  • I know it may seem like a big deal now, but I know you will love your new hearing aids. I promise!
  • Mom, I know I was nervous to get the hearing aids, but now I'm scared about what other people will say.
  • Kindergarten: Friends
  • I'm so happy we are all friends, and we are in a class where we all have hearing aids!
  • Me too, everyone just gets it!
  • First and Second Grade: Friends
  • Wow! That was very rude of Laura. She is always talking down to Cece.
  • Hey Laura, do you want to come to my house after school?
  • No offense, but your house if kinda boring, lets play at mine instead?
  • Cece and her parents have noticed that Cece could no longer hear anything. They brought her to the doctor and she is in the process of getting 2 pairs (one for at home and another for at school with a built-in microphone for her teacher to wear).
  • Third Grade: Friend
  • In Kindergarten, Cece is in a class with other students who are deaf, making it easier for the teacher to help their needs.
  • Fourth Grade: Friend
  • In first and second grade, Cece is friends with a girl named Laura. Laura always seems to 'put-down' Cece in everything she says.
  • Fourth Grade: Crush
  • Hi Ceee-Ceee! Waaanna goo iinsiidee wiith meeee?
  • In third grade, Cece met a new friend named Ginny. Ginny always seemed to talk babyish around Cece, making her feel like one. She never made a point of talking to the other kids like that, and Cece found that weird.
  • I wonder why Ginny always talks like that to Cece? She never talks to me that way.
  • Ya, sure Ginny!
  • Thanks for coming over Cece! I really think we can be best friends!
  • In fourth grade, Cece made a new friend Martha. Martha was very different from all of Cece's past friends because she never questioned Cece's hearing aids or made fun or her. Cece thought they could be best friends in the future.!
  • Me too, Martha! I haven't had very much luck with friends in the past but I think we can be BFFs!
  • Cece noticed a new family move in on her street with a super cute son named Mike. Their teacher had told them they would be getting a new male students, and Cece hoped he was it. She has a massive crush on the new kid.
  • Mike, let's go! We only have a few more boxes to unpack, you need to keep moving so we can move in TONIGHT!
  • Who's that cute new boy? I think he's the new boy we are supposed to be getting at school!
