Exposition The story begins on a cold December night, where the narrator is sitting by a fire reading an old book. He is trying to get his mind off of a lost love named Lenore.
Conflict Man vs. Self The narrator is struggling with himself and his emotions. He is grieving and not able to forget Lenore
Rising Action 1. Narrator hears a knock on his door. When he opens it, nothing is there. 2. He then hears a louder knock on the window. As he opens the window, a raven flies into the room. 3. The narrator starts asking minor questions to the bird. The bird shockingly responds with "nevermore." 4. The man is intrigued and continues talking to the raven.
Climax The narrator asks the raven if he will ever see Lenore again, the raven simply replies "nevermore".
Will I ever be able to hold Lenore again???
Falling Action The narrator is upset by the bird's reply and yells at the bird to go back where he came from. The raven replies "nevermore"!!!
GET OUT AND NEVER COME BACK!!!!
Resolution The narrator is now trapped in a personal hell and will never be happy again. The raven is still haunting him to this day.
