The first half of the war was primarily normal navy warfare, with the Romans getting crushed due to Carthage's experience. However, Rome invented a plank that had a hook on it, and they invaded enemy ships, winning them the first war.
You may have a stronger Navy than us, but we have a better Army!
Stay back Romans! You will not be taking over us anytime soon!
What is this new technology? Retreat!!!!
The Second Punic War (Part One)
The Carthage Army in Italy, led by Hannibal, destroyed the Roman army multiple times, taking over a ton of their land. Romes allies in the South run to Hannibals side, leaving Rome all alone.
Come at us! Us Romans can take you!
Oh don't worry, I'll be knocking on you doors soon enough.
Plus, we have already defeated your army several times
Since Carthage was destroying the Romans in Italy, a Roman army sailed across the Mediterranian to North Africa. The Carthage army then had to sail all the way back down and lost outside their gates. They then had to pay the Romans a ton of money, and lost control of Spain.
Second Punic War (Part 2)
Should've thought ahead, huh? Now we have you at your own gates!
All is fair in war!
We were destroying you in Italy, you Roman cowards.
Cato the Elder won the debate, and Rome completely swept Carthage of the map. Most of the Carthage people were sent into slavery, and anything of value was brought into Rome.
I, Cato the Elder, believe we should destroy a rising Carthage.
No, the threat is to large for this to continue.
No, us Scipios believe Carthage should stay at least a worth enemy.
The Roman Republic controls the Mediterranian.
Carthage is completely gone, and it's people are slaves
Rome now controlled most of the known world
The Patricians, or wealthy class, controlled the Roman Republic.
