In September 1777 the British made a plan to take both sides of the Hudson River.
This will not end well.
We will atack the them and take control of the Hudson River!
Luckily for the continental army they found out about the attack. On September 19th, sharp shooters hid in the woods and shot at the British and some attacked them without hiding. 600 British soldiers died that day.
British General John Burgoyne and his army attacked the Continental army on October 7. the Continental army was prepared, they were capturing the British soldiers and targeting officers. even though they were doing great the British were gaining but then, Continental General Benedict Arnold rode forward and gave a speech that inspired the Continental army to win!

On October 14, 1777 the British surrendered and this convinced France to help America.
