- the Boston tea party was an act against the British because the British sent cheap tea

- on July 4th 1776 the declaration of independence was signed meaning America was now free from Britain
- the British were unable to find the patriot stock pile and had to retreat

- after the Boston tea party the king issued the intolerable acts the purpose of these were to make Boston pay for all the ruined tea
