Ponyboy Vs Self
The Abandoned lot has been a big part of Ponyboy's life and has been very important to all of the Greasers. The lot is on the Greasers territory and has been the place where everyone goes to meet up. The lot was where Ponyboy and Johnny fell asleep well talking about their feelings about everything. This was the place where Ponyboy could go if he had a problem and needed to talk to Johnny about it.
The conflict with Ponyboy battling himself was a big part of shaping his personality. He had to deal with the death of Johnny which made him depresses. He stopped caring about how he did in school and stopped eating as much. This was a big deal because he used to very passionate about school and was very smart and did very well. He had changed his personality all because of him being depressed, his personality could have been that way forever if Johnny hadn't left the letter for him.
Soda helped Ponyboy's character development a lot and his relationship with everyone too. If Soda was never there then Ponboy would forever think that Darry never loved him. Soda was the only one who really stood up to Darry for him whenever he needed help. If Darry and Ponyboy were in an argument Soda would always talk Darry out of being mad. Soda always had Ponyboy's back and if he was never there then Ponyboy would always be sad and have a bad relationship with Darry.
