Siddhartha was born of nobility in Nepal in 600 BC, destined to either be a great King or the saviour of the world. His father wanted him to be the first.
From the moment Siddhartha was born he lived an extremely luxurious life. The King wanted keep his son away from all suffering and kept the idea of religion away from him. He made sure Siddhartha had no idea of hardship.
The world is happy and perfect inside these walls, forever stay my son.
At the age of 16 he was married to Yasodhara, though his life inside the palace walls would continue for another 19 years.
Siddhartha, after 29 years of sheltered life, decided he wanted to explore the outside and see what other wonders remained outside the walls. Little did he know what would come to witness
What is life outside these palace walls like? I think I will venture out. Come with me charioteer
He is ageing sure. All humans and things will go through that fragility
But what he came to see were the hardships of reality, the first being growing old.
What is happening to that man?
Siddhartha then came upon two more sights of human suffering. One was a diseased man, begging for help and in extreme pain. The other was a decaying body in the streets, left to rot.
My friend has passed and myself diseased. Life is filled with suffering and misery.
