  • Boston Tea Party by: Nate K.
  • Colonists met in a tavern to discuss plans against British
  • British started taxing the tea. The colonist saw this as 'Taxation without representation' as they had no representation in parliament.
  • In the middle of the night the Sons of Liberty boarded 3 British Tea ships dressed as Native Americans. The ships contained 500,000 lbs of tea
  • The Sons of Libery took every pack, opened them, then threw them overboard into the water.
  • The British closed the harbor until the tea was fully repaid, this was decided by the 1774 Intolerable Acts. (Boston Port Act)
