Storyboard Text

  • Montano gets back to Venice to inform everyone on the status of the war. One of the ships from Cyprus did not make it, which left everyone confused as to if Othello did.
  • One of the ships from Cyprus did not make the storm unfortunately, but I still do not have any information on Othello's.
  • So... about Othello
  • Montano is later informed that the ship that was carrying Othello has just made it to shore. The ship that had carried Desdemona, Iago, Roderigo, and Emilia makes it back. While discussing the war, Cassio pulls Desdemona to the side to discuss Othello. Iago notices, and decides to take advantage of it.
  • Othello's ship has made it.
  • I don't think those were his intentions, Iago. They were discussing Othello.
  • Iago then tries to convince Roderigo that Cassio pulling Desdemona to the side was in effort to seduce her, when Iago knows the truth. Roderigo does not agree with Iago.
  • Did you see how Cassio pulled Desdemona aside in an attempt to woo her? That meddling freak! What is Desdemona to do with a man like that?
  • What everyone else does not know is that I secretly lust after Desdemona. I will use Cassio as a way to get closer to her by getting a higher position as lieutenant from Othello and turning him against her and Cassio. Roderigo will help me along the way.
  • Iago informs the audience (Us) on his master plan.
  • Iago gives Cassio a drink to try and disgrace him (Cassio unaware of his plan), which will turn Othello & the other venetians against him and will help Iago. When Cassio eventually gets drunk, he stabs Montano & beats Roderigo. (Next scene over)
  • Have a drink, man.
  • Thank you, dear friend.
  • Help!
  • Iago informs us on the rest of his plan, while a hurt Montano & angry Roderigo turn against Cassio. Iago quietly waits in the corner waiting to pursue the rest of his plan.
  • Now that my plan is working, I will continue to turn other venetians against Cassio & plan for Othello to witness Cassio's "suit" to Desdemona.
  • Curse you, Cassio.
  • I'm sorry.. for I was in my wrong state of mind.
