The Cause of The Cold War By Olivia Hauck
The cold war began in 1947 and was never a physical war. The cold war was a on going battle between the United States and the Soviet Union.
The United States and Soviet Union were constantly trying to out do each other. They were competing over who had the strongest military and even who had the first successful mission in space.
The United States feared the spread of communism and created the Truman Doctrine. The Soviet Union fired back with their own version in fear of the atomic bomb.
The Cold War was also heightened by the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Soviet Union was against capitalist nations like the United States.
Tensions rose even higher when the United States joined the NATO. All of these aspects contributed to the decades long Cold War.
