Storyboard Text

  • I... I uh, I can explain!
  • You've betrayed me!
  • We won!
  • If I'm truly betraying my colonists, I'll need a redcoat.
  • Benedict Arnold betrayed General Washington in around 1779, by secretly negotiating with the British.
  • That's what you think!
  • ...I was almost caught wearing my redcoat!
  • Benedict was a Revolutionary War hero as a general. He helped the Colonists win many battles along the way to victory.
  • HA! I got away!
  • You dirty traitor...
  • But, Benedict Arnold felt he wasn't recognized for the victories he won for the newfound country, so he ended up betraying the States, and running to the redcoats.
  • This made him the infamous traitor that you may know him for today.
  • Benedict got to enemy (British) territory in America, and later retreated to England.
  • A lesson to be learned; just because you aren't accurately represented for a good thing you've done, don't become a traitor. In my opinion, he should've asked General Washington for recognition for his good deeds.
