  • For centuries owls have been regarded as symbols of wisdom. Perhaps it's because of their habit of sitting still, listening to all that's happening and swiveling their head to give their full attention to everything around them.
  • LECTURE TIME!!! Today i will talk to you about owls.
  • Owls captures & focuses sound into its ears which are positioned, one slightly above the other, next to the eyes. Owls feathers are adapted for silent flight. The ability to make a surprise attack is far more important than speed.
  • Here's an example:  Owls hunt small mammals and geckos in the darkness and silence of the night. Owls listen for the small silent noises made by its prey.
  • Fun fact about us owls is that Owls hunt other owls. Great Horned Owls are the top predator of the smaller Barred Owl which is me!
