Penelope Prepares A Test
Odysseus and Telemachus meet after around 10 years. This occurs in a swineherd's hut, andwhile Odysseus is disguised as an old man in rags.
Odysseus Completes The Test
Odysseus begins to formulate a plan, while Telemachus returns to town to hide all the weapons that could be used by the suitors.
Odysseus Takes Back His Home
Penelope gets out Odysseus's bow from his vault in order to test whether Odysseus is actually back. She announces the test which consists of shooting an arrow through a line of 12 axes. This is a task of which only Odysseus could complete.
Odysseus steps up to Penelope's test as the beggar. No one expects him to do so, as no one but Telemachus knows who he is, but Odysseus finishes the test with ease.
Odysseus and Telemachus, along with Odysseus' two loyal servants easily kill all of the suitors. Because they have no weapons, the suitors could not prevent this. Odysseus goes to his wife, and while skeptical at first, Penelope finds out it is him.
