In this lesson, we will review the different types of bark and we will demonstrate how our sense of touch will help us explore the environment.
The materials we will be using are, a database program to create a Venn Diagram, a shoebox, different barks, pine needles, leafs and any natural objects.
We will now explore the varieties of natural objects found.
Can you tell me what color the natural objects are? What are the different textures? How do they feel?
Now let's blindfold each other while examing the natural objects. Were your senses sharper while being blindfolded? How did it feel to be blindfolded?
Why is it important to use our sense of touch for this activity? What will happen if you didn't have a sense of touch?
