  • Crocodile's  skin protects them from water loss. They have bony scales called scutes.
  • Lion's mane protects them from injuries around the neck. It helps them especially during fights.
  • Tiger's stripes help them to hide in the reeds and bushes to catch its prey. it is a camouflage for them. 
  • Each tiger has different pattern of stripes.
  • Elephants have thick skin to hold together their mass.
  • In some places elephant's skin can be as thin as paper.
  • Turtle's shell protects them from predators such as raccoons. They can hide in the shells 
  • Their shells are made of bone scutes that are hard to bite
  • Snake's scales protect their body from injuries and it allows moisture to be retained
  • Their skin also helps them in movement.
