  • Not Prepared For War
  • I mean I hate to break it to you guys but I'm starting to think that we're not prepared for war.
  • I mean, our military is so weak because of Jefferson's spending cuts and the British are strong as ever.
  •
  • British Blockade
  • Oh no! The British have built a blockade! More and more of our ports are blocked by British warships!
  • I'm kind of having doubts about invading Canada in hope they will join us.. EVERYONE RETREAT!!!!
  • Invasion of canada
  • Isaac Brock has British and Native soldiers and has taken advantage! My men are dying! We must surrender!
  • Due to Jefferson's spending cuts, the U.S. Military was small and weak, which they noticed once the war began. It was in no shape for a war with Britain, a huge world power.
  • Battle of Washington
  •
  • In the first days of the war, the British set up a Blockade of the American coast. By 1814, the British Navy had 135 warships blockading. They were able to close off all American ports by the war's end.
  • Battle of Baltimore
  • The flag! We haven't surrendered! I better write a poem.
  • U.S. decided to invade Canada because they believed Canada would join the U.S. to escape monarchy. However, General William Hull invaded then decided to retreat. In his troop's weakness, British General Isaac Brock forced them to surrender.
  • Battle of New Orleans
  • In August 1804, the British marched into Washington D.C. They set fire to government buildings. Americans were shocked that they could not protect the capitol. Dolley Mason, who's husband was the president managed to save important papers.
  • WE CAN'T EVEN PROTECT OUR OWN CAPITOL!
  • No time for whining! I must rescue these documents!
  • On September 13, 1814, the British attacked Fort McHenry in Baltimore which defended the harbor. Francis Scott Key was thankful to see the American flag still standing at Dawn so he wrote a poem that is now our national anthem.
  • After the war had ended, some troops didn't know so they still fought. This included General Andrew Jackson who led his small poorly armed force to defeat around 6,000 skilled British soldiers.
  • We are outgunned! Out-manned! Outnumbered! Out-planned!
  • Wow! We actually won!
