Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • It is dusk at a carnival and Montresor is plotting revenge.  We used low key lighting to show that Montresor is plotting something sinister.
  • Rising Action #2
  • You? A mason? Really? No way!!! Me too!
  • Montresor needs to gain Fortunato's trust. He discusses wine with Fortunato, and lures him in by insinuating Luchresi's taste is a match for his. This makes Fortunato feel the need to prove himself.  We used low key lighting because the scene needs to be gloomy & dark.
  • Climax
  • Fortunato coughs. Montresor pretends to care about his health as another trust builder. We used low key lighting because it shows Montresor's plan is slowly working.
  • Falling Action
  • Montresor seals the deal by saying he is a Mason. Now he has Fortunato's trust.   We used a close - up to show the men talking as if everything is normal. It adds to the scary effect because something terrible is about to happen.
  • Yeah I really am a Mason
  • Montresor chains up Fortunato on the wall. Fortunato is terrified. Montresor starts the process of building the wall. We would use a low angle to make Montresor seem powerful and scary. There is low key lighting because the event is terrible.
  • Montressor is proud of what he has done. Nobody ever finds the body behind the walls. High key lighting shows how Montresor is proud and it's a happy ending for him because he gets away with murder.
