A man tries to journey alone through the Yukon wilderness during the winter in negative seventy five degree temperatures.
The foolish man decides to travel along a frozen river and soon falls through the ice, getting his boots and feet wet in the process. He rushes to make a fire in order to save his freezing feet.
The man successfully builds a fire to warm himself but it soon goes out after a tree branch full of snow falls onto it. He quickly rushes to build another fire as he begins to lose feeling in his hands and feet.
After failing to build a new fire the man decides he must kill his dog in order to survive by putting his hands and feet inside of it to keep warm. He lunges toward the dog but it runs away from the man because it had sensed danger.
As a last ditch effort, the man begins to run as fast as he can toward his boys and camp. With no strength remaining in his legs, he falters and eventually falls down.
As the man lays on the ground he thinks about death. He soon falls asleep and dies.
