Storyboard Text

  • After I crept past the monsters at the Gate of Pluto, I walked for some time.  Eventually I come to a line of people waiting to be seen by the three judges: Minos, Aeacus & Rhadamanthus.  Once it was my turn I stepped up to the platform.
  • I tremble at the feet of the three judges but make an effort to retain my composure. For although I am a dead soul, I was still a empress in the upper world.  The judges bore down on me as memories of my life flashed through my mind. Helping women and children in poverty, assisting my husband make good decisions for the greater good, etc.   "Elysian Fields" Rhadamanthus booms, and I am ushered on.
  • I yell with excitement when the judges give me my ruling. But I still have a journey of wandering to go through. I go past the entrance of Tartarus, glowing with flames and acid, where I hear the screams of Sisyphus as he rolls his boulder. I see the bleak glow of the Asphodel Meadows full of wandering souls. I picture the Fields of Mourning where people who died before their time stay. I cross over the river Phlegethon. The Palace of the Proserpina and Pluto come into view.
  • Pluto's Palace is filled with the sounds of laughter as Pluto and Proserpina play with Cerberus in the courtyard.  I picture the Elysian Fields in my head, just like we were told they were as children.
  • I smile at the happiness of Proserpina, but feel sad at the thoughts of my living family working through the cold season.  I push those thoughts aside as I see the River Lethe (River of Forgetfulness) come into view. I kneel on the banks of the river with hundreds of other content souls. I drink from the river and a feeling of peace and serenity washes over my body. I am ready to move onto the Elysian Fields.
  • I see the other rivers of the Underworld.  The Phlegethon (Fire), the Acheron (Woe), Cocytus (wailing), Lethe (Forgetfulness) I arrive at the Elysian Fields.  I step through the barrier and am washed in a sense of peace and relaxation. I am a content soul with a good lifetime to be proud of.
