  • Hey guys I am going to work now. 
  • Goodbye, father.
  • Nearly a third of the workplace was unemployed during this time period. The Great Depression started to arise
  • Pardon me?
  • The stock market crashed overnight. We have to let everyone go. We lost all the stocks we got. 
  • All of our dough is gone, John. Stock's went down and we are broke. Saving's, credit and investments are failing at banks across town. 
  • As of 1933, nearly half of America's banks had failed, and unemployment was approaching up to 15 million people. 
  • Are you zozzled, it crashed? Meaning all we lost all our purchased goods and people jobs are now gone. 
  • Their was a boom and then a bust in the stock markets. This whole thing is balled up. 
  • What are we going to do John?
  • Margaret, the stock market crashed is causing my company huge debt, as we can no longer afford here. 
  • As Mackenzie King steered Canada through industrialization, by the time he left office Canada had achieved greater Independence from Britain and implemented policies such as unemployment insurance. 
  • Father why are we in the basement of an apartment?
  • I will try to find new work but this is all we can afford.  Their is no point in a bank run as the bank officials invested our money into the market.
