Storyboard Text

  • The author puts Jack in the story to show everyone that bad things can go wrong.
  • Jack is tall, he has red hair. He likes to paint his face to make him look tough.
  • "You didn't ought to have let that fire out. You said you'd keep the smoke going-" (page 71)
  • Jack's personality: aggressive, and tough
  • "We needed meat." Jack said this because that was his motto while on the island. His main concern was getting meat.
  • I think Jack should learn how to work together with others instead of fighting with others.
  • The author puts Ralph in the story to show that good things happen to those who keep persevering and never gives up.
  • Ralph has fair hair. He is tall. He looks very strong.
  • "Him with the shell." "Ralph! Ralph!" "Let him be the chief with the trumpet-thing" Page 22
  • I think Ralph has a good "head on his shoulders." He watches over everyone, even the little kids, and that's important for a leader.
  • "But there isn't a beastie!" Page 36
  • Ralph's personality: type that always perseveres, he helps others in need.
  • I think Piggy needs to have thick skin. He needs to learn how to stick up for himself when Jack called him names.
  • The author puts Piggy in the story to show that bad things happen to good people. This is true when Piggy got his glasses take from him, now he couldn't see.
  • "We don't want you,"said Jack, flatly. "Three's enough." Page 24
  • Piggy's personality: soft, laid-back, can get taken advantage of
  • "I know I can't see very much," said Piggy, "but have we got any smoke?" Page 66
  • Piggy is short, he's chubby. He wears glasses. He looks mad and angry because he got his glasses stolen.
  • The page 71 quote means that Jack wasn’t that concerned about keeping the fire alive to rescue all of them. He was mostly concerned with catching animals for food.
  • The quote on page 22 means that everyone would rather have/trust Ralph as a leader better than Jack.
  • The quote on page 24 shows how much confidence, if any, Jack had in Piggy to help come up with ways to get rescued.
