Holden sneaks back home in the middle of the night to come see Phoebe and before he woke her up, he read her notebook. He thought it was the most purest thing he has ever read. After he wakes her up, he tells her that he brought her a Shirley Beans Record but it broke into a million pieces on the way there. He loved sitting there with her and catching up on all the things he missed.
Holden returns back home to his family and starts to plan a little bit of his future. He is going to a psychoanalyst which is helping him get motivated and thinking about going to another school soon. Holden's last words are to never tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.
