The Wangarans put some gold dust next to the goods, beat the drum, took the goods, and left.
The traders returned and if the amount of gold dust was acceptable, they took it and left.
If the amount of gold dust was not large enough, the traders went away again and waited for the Wangarans to return and leave more gold dust. The Wangarans came back and left more gold if necessary.
Advantages of Silent Trade
The African Silent Trade had two main benefits: - It allowed people that spoke different languages to conduct trade without conflict or misunderstandings. - It allowed the Wangarans to keep the location of their gold mine a secret, to prevent other people from coming in the mines and mining the gold for themselves.
The traders for the last time went to the trading spot and retrieved the added gold dust.
The trading process is now complete, and both sides of the trade got the goods they were seeking at the beginning of the trade.
