Storyboard Text

  • Wow a mermaid!
  • Hello, I am here to teach you about inverse functions.
  • Inverse Functions? What are those?
  • Inverse functions are simply reflections of the original function.
  • Can you teach me how they work?
  • Sure! Lets say we have the function, f(x)= 3x-6. First you will change f(x) to y so the function will now read, y=3x-6.
  • Next switch the x and y variables so it reads x=3y-6. Now the goal of these inverse functions problems are to solve for "y".
  • Therefore, to solve for "y", we add 6 to both sides and divide by 3. Now, our final answer and our inverse functions is f-1(x)= x+6/3. That's how you do inverse functions!
  • Man that was fun!
  • I put the FUN in Inverse Functions!
