Storyboard Text

  • In the election of 1800 both Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr got 73 votes. Since it is a tie the House of Representatives must vote to decide the outcome.
  • Thomas Jefferson should be voted  President. He has alot of experience in politics. Jefferson was the Vice President, Secretary of State and wrote the Declaration of Independence.
  • No, Aaron Burr should be president. He was the Continental Army Officer, a lawyer,  a senator and was apart of New York's Attorney General.  This makes him much more qualified than Jefferson.
  • If Jefferson and Hamilton had to work together again they could do exactly what Washington warned us again. We do not need the nation to be destroyed because of political parties.
  • That is a good point. However Hamilton would like to work with Jefferson since they agree on more issues than he does with Burr. Therefore the nation would divide with Burr as preident, not Jefferson.
  • The votes are in! Jefferson is the 3rd president of the United States of America.
