You must solve her riddles and then she will die
He offered the throne to anyone who could solve the riddle of the Sphinx
Oedipus was travelling and he came across Thebes and the Sphinx asked him two riddles
Oedipus solved the riddles and the Sphinx jumped off the mountainside in despair, and died
Oedipus became King of Thebes and the Sphinx did not terrorise anyone anymore
