Storyboard Text

  • "I didn't even scream." pg.69
  • "I go almost every morning to surf with my friend Alana Blanchard"   pg. 3
  • Exposition: This is told in first person by Bethany. She lives in Hawaii with her mom and dad and two brothers.
  • I WON  
  • Conflict: Bethany goes to surf with her friend one morning. While surfing a shark attacks her and bites her arm, she then has to get surgery. This is Character vs. Character.
  • "Don't worry, I can help. I'm a paramedic" pg. 77
  • Rising Action: Bethany likes to surf in the early morning. She likes to go with her friends. Which is who she was with during the attack.
  • "You can leave the hospital early" pg. 112
  • Climax: The climax of the story is when Bethany won the National surfing competition. This is the turning part of the story that Bethany want to be a surfer even more. 
  • Falling action: Alana and her family that was there when Bethany got attacked help her and find more people to help. Such as the paramedic that was surfing that morning. 
  • "This hurts a lot. I want my mom"  pg. 76
  • Resolution: In the end after Bethany's surgery she is allowed to leave the hospital early which made her very happy. She is now excepting the fact that she lost her arm.
