Storyboard Text

  • I think I'll get a cheeseburger...
  • Are you sure you want to do that? Do you know how unsustainable the production of that burger is!
  • The production of meat starts with many life stock concentrated in small areas. Many times this can result in runoff from antibiotics, pesticides, and feces which contaminate local waterways. Not to mention how much methane those cows are releasing!
  • I had no idea! I guess I'll order something that doesn't support that kind of industry!
  • Good thinking! Here's some ways your individual action is making the slightest difference!
  • This allows people and animals to have access to clean water. This is one of the many ways avoiding meat can be environmentally sustainable.
  • Look at all the water you're saving! Not only are you saving 2,500 gallons of water with every pound of beef you don't eat, but you're also keeping this stream clean from the pollutants that the meat industries produce!
  • Lots of times, factories and farms are sometimes put very close to people of color or people in poverty. Therefore, these people suffer the consequences worse than others.
  • Eating no meat can also be socially sustainable, because you are protecting people from the consequences they did nothing to deserve!
  • By not eating meat, we can save the U.S. billions of dollars and that's how no meat is also economically sustainable as well!
  • Meat production costs hundreds of billions of dollars every year, which is very costly to everyone! This money could be used for many other things, one of which is cleaning up the mess we've already made!
