Transportation: 72% of the nation’s railroad tracks. Was easy to distribute supplies to soldiers who were in need of things such as weaponry, clothing, and food.
The North had a big agricultural disadvantage. Unlike the South, the North couldn't grow large amounts of rice, corn, or cotton. The South rather flourished from this advantage due to how easy it was to rely on the production of food.
Population: In the North, the population number ranked up to 22 million people. Due to this vast number of people, this helped raise a large army and support the war efforts.
