  • Today, class we are going to learn about Galileo Galilei
  • Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564 in Pisa, Italy
  • I want you to go to the Universaty of Pisa to study medicine
  • Stars are in the sky
  • Just a day at a school, in the science classroom.
  • So moons do orbit Jupiter!
  • Galileo's father wanted Galileo to study medicine at the Universaty of Pisa. He enrolled but never completed.
  • Galileo was the first scientist to routinely use experiments to test his theories.
  • When Galileo was older he became the first person to study the sky with a telescope.
  • Galileo is remembered as the father of experimental science.
  • Galileo died on January 8, 1642 in Arcetri
  • That is it class, class dismissed 
  • He discovered craters and mountains on the moon. He also discovered that moons orbit Jupiter. He found four moons of Jupiter
  • Galileo's biggest contribution to the development of science was the way he learned about mechanics. Instead of just observing things in nature, he set up experiments to test what he observed.
