Ugh! What is that awful smell?! The humidy makes it even worse! It's sooo hot.
Oops, my bad! It's the dirt, it blocks the sun from my back, keeps away the biting insects, and it's cold so it cools me down a bit! You get used to the smell after a while.
So how do you even get the dirt on your back? And what about when you get thirsty Mr. Elephant?
That's awesome! It's like you've got your own personal sprinkler!
You sure ask a lot of questions! I use my trunk to throw the dirt onto my back. My trunk is a lifesaver! Without it, I could die of dehydration, or heat stroke. The trunk helps me breathe, drink water when I'm thirsty, eat, and even spray cool water on my back too!
Woah! Really?? Wait I wanna be an elephant too now!
Wait! Mr. Elephant I still have more questions! Wait up!!
Sorry kid! I've gotta go refuel and relax, I've got a night shift at the Cactus Club tonight! You do know us elephants are diurnal AND nocturnal. Right?
