George:"Sure we are, if you gather up some dead willow sticks. I got three cans of beans in my bindle. You get the fire ready. I'll match when you get the sticks." This shows George as the one in charge. He takes care of Lennie but doesn't do everything.
Lennie:"'I forgot,"Lennie said softly. "I tried not to forget. Honest to God I did, George.'" This shows Lennie is forgetful and need George's help to get through a day.
The two themes in this chapter are friendship and loneliness.1: Loneliness"Guys like us, that work on a ranches. They got no family." 2. Friendship"With us it ain't like that. We got a future. We got somebody to talk to that gives a damn about us."
I think that the boys will get in trouble because they didn't come last night. They are gonna have to pay the boss back by working more time.
