  • In the beginning of the book Katnis was living with her mom and sister in district 12 and one day, all the people from district 12 need to go to the ceremony to see who would be pick for the next Hunger Games. During the ceremony, Katnis’s sister Prim had gotten chosen to be in the Hunger Games. So Katnis Volunteered her tribute in her sisters place.
  • Climax
  • the conflit in the story is that Katnis had volunteered her tribute to be in the hunger games instead of her sister but fails to realize that she takes care of the family and needs to survive he hunger games because she is the one who supports her family in every way possible but her surviving isn’t just expected from her family but also in society.
  • Falling action 
  • The hunger games starts with all the participants waitingon the block for the games to start. The rising action is that when the games starts everyone is running to try and get the supplies they need to be able to survive and win the games.
  • Denouement (end)
  • Close to the end of the book, one of Katniss’s friend she met from district 15 was Rue, rue had died in the hunger games trying to protect Katniss from getting killed which in the end resulted in her dying. After katniss had found her dead she gathered some purple flowers and put them all round her. Katniss has been extremely sad.
  • After everyone dying and Peeta mellark and Katniss being the only ones alive. They try to threaten the capital to kill themselves with the berries but then the capital were convinced that they would so they said that there could be two victors
  • In the end of the book, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark win the Hunger Games. then they moved on to the next hunger games, in the next book.
