The Seven Years' War didn't exactly last for seven years, it lasted for 23. It forced the British to use weapons they didn't have the money for which lead them to taxing the colonists which stared the American Revolutionary War.
Nous sommes français!
We are allied with the French because they are outnumbered.
We are taking over certain territories like Quebec so we can control this war to our likings.
In March 1765, Stamp Act was when the British Soldiers taxed the American colonists by making them pay for stamps that they are required to put on any paper they use. They did this to pay back their government for the weapon supply during the Seven Years' War.
This is outrageous!
All paper must be stamped!
In 1765, the Quartering Act was when the British placed soldiers in the colonies. The soldiers needed a place to stay, so they quartered people into small areas of their homes, or stayed in uninhabited buildings. The colonists would have to provide food and other supplies to the soldiers living in their homes.
This is unfair! How can we supply you with food if we don't have any money from your taxes?
The Boston Massacre wasn't exactly a "massacre." On March 5, 1770, the British only killed five people and injured six. Before that, they had issued a law that you had to pay taxes for paper, glass, and tea. These were known as the Intolerable Acts.
Oh geez they just killed 5 people!!!
The Boston Tea Party occured on Decembner, 16 1773. A group of militiamen dressed up and dumped 92,000 pounds of British tea into Boston Harbor.
Throw it all in!
We will persevere through the British. No matter how intolerable
On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed. The colonies broke free from parliament, and were now known as the United States of America.
