  • French and Indian War
  • We want the land!
  • NO WE WANT THE LAND!!
  • Proclamation of 1763
  • we lost so many people for this land!!
  • Townshend Act
  • The French and Indian War, was a battle between the British and the French. The reason of the war was because both sides wanted the land East of the Mississippi River. When the British won the war they got more power, but because of war expenses, they had to start taxing the colonists led to a lot of problems. 
  • Boston Massacre
  • After the British colonists had won the war, as well as land from the French, to prevent additional conflict between the Natives and the colonists, the British issued the Proclamation of 1763, which doesn't allow the colonists to settle past the Appalachian Mountain. This really angered the colonists, as they had just fought and died for that land.
  • Boston Tea Party
  • The British can't tax our tea if they don't have any tea to tax.
  • The Townshend Act was an act that played against the Colonists by paying taxes for imported items like tea, glass, paint, lead, and paper. 
  • First Continental Congress
  • Our territory,, our rules!!
  •  The Boston Massacre is significant because it showed how the Patriots could hold their own power without the help of the British. 
  • The Boston Tea Party was significant because the colonists were done with the British constantly taxing them for the money that they needed to pay their soldiers. 
  • no taxation without representation!!!
  • The First Continental Congress was a meeting that cleared if there was 12 or 13 colonies. This meeting organized colonial residence to Parliament's Coercive Acts.
