After Steven learned that his brother has leukemia, his grades suddenly dropped form A's and B's to C's and D's. Also it was clear for him that he will not be able to pass his Math test. Mrs. Galley as principal called him to check up on him and try to talk to him about his familly matters.
Steven with his father and Jeffrey went to Philadelphia hospital to do Jeffrey's monthly white blood cells checkup. While visiting, Steven was able to meet girl called Samantha that just like Jeffrey had leukemia. Even though their relationship was short, Sam was able to give to Steven a life changing lesson.
During charity concert, Jeffrey got fever and Steven chosen that he rather spent time with his brother in the hospital, than playing in the concert that he anticipated so much. Steven chose this by remembering what he promised to Sam last time he was in the hospital.
