music video storyboard
S3 - S1 - This shot will show gameplay footage of the game FIFA, a popular game that is played when teenage boys compete with each other. The footage will show brilliant goals that are scored within the game. This shot will last for 5 seconds and as this shot is filmed directed from the Xbox's harddrive, it will fill up the entire frame of shot. No additional sound will be heard, apart from the backing track with the transition, a cutaway
S3 - S2 - A wide shot of the room of the camera looking over the shoulders of the boys playing fifa. The shot will convey a fun atmosphere, a sense of what it would be like to own a xbox. The frame will include the body language and fun, happy facial expressions in the foreground, alongside the gameplay footage in the background. This shot will last 6 seconds with everything is going to be in focus. Transition = cutaway.
S3 - S3 - This head and shoulder shot of all the boys will last 4 seconds and will show another angle of the boys having fun with the xbox, seen by mouth movements of laughter, although this will be muted with the non-diegetic sound of the fast, upbeat backing track music being heard, as its this that shapes the advert. The purpose of this shot is to show the reactions to the goals scored and the engagement and competition you can create. Transition = Cutaway
S3 - S4 - This wide shot will last 4 seconds and show the friends leaving the xbox/party. The purpose of this shot is to show the narrative of how its the xbox that brings friends and excitement into your life. Facial expressions will still show joy and happiness as George goes to hi-5 everyone before they leave him. With the camera stationary, in full focus of everything in shot, the active audience can easily decode the situation as the transition will be a cutaway.
S4 - S1 - This head and shoulder shot of George on his bed will show him getting more downhearted as he realises the xbox is switching off. The non-diegetic music will slowly be fading down but not fully as the shot will last 4 seconds. The shot will show George at an angle taking a deep breath of sadness as this realisation hits. Transition = Cutaway
S4 - S2 - This is a Point of View shot from George's perspective as he turns his Xbox off. This 10 second shot will show the ripple effect from full colour back to grey-scale, alongside physically showing the xbox light turning off. This gives the realisation to the audience, the fun that can be had as the sound fades away slowly until it has gone completely at the end of the shot. The Xbox will be in central focus and the narrative will become strong, leaving the consumer with a message about the product. Transition = fade to black.
