Storyboard Text

  • PRECALCULUS Objective: To evaluate a function by the given variables to determine the output.
  • Okay kids, today we are going to learn how to evaluate functions.
  • December 3 2018
  • December 3 2018
  • To evaluate function the independent  variable x plays the role of a placeholder. For example, the function F(x)=3x^2+x-5 to evaluate f at a number you should substitute all the x variables with the number asked for in the question.
  • Evaluate the function with following x values Find: f(2) Find: f(-1)
  • Who can answer the following question?
  • PRECALCULUS Objective: To evaluate a function by the given variables to determine the output.
  • Good Job Alexandra!!
  • Please do it on the board
  • December 3 2018
  • I CAN !!
  • f(x)=3x^2+x+5 f(2) f(2)=3(2)^2+2+5 f(2)=12+2+5 f(2)=19
  • PRECALCULUS Objective: To evaluate a function by the given variables to determine the output.
  • Who can do the one with negative 1?
  • Good Job Elizabeth!!
  • I can definitely do it.
  • f(x)=3x^2+x+5 f(-1) f(-1)=3(-1)^2+(-1)+5 f(-1)=3+(-1)+5 f(-1)=4+5 f(-1)=9
  • MRS. LEA
  • Now, I'll give you a small coverage of what we will do tomorrow we will do the same thing with just a little bit harder value to put instead of x known as a polynomial equation where you should find for example f(x+5) which will be a little bit tougher variables.
  • CLASS DISMISSED!!
  • That was a wonderful class . I understood everything.
  • True. I loved it.I can't wait for tomorrow.
