Today we'll be explaining how people in Jamaica deal with people with disabilities.
Hello, my name is Omar Marei.
Right now we are standing in front of what would be a public school in Jamaica, a place many disabled children do not have access to nowadays.
Oh, wow! That's a huge number.
Did you know? People with disabilities in Jamaica account for 10% of the population.
People with disabilities in Jamaica have a low priority due to the low amount of programs offered by the Jamaican Government.
This affects their education as well as opportunities to enroll in the workforce.
For the 2017/18 period children with disabilities who are beneficiaries of the early stimulation program will be provided with additional rehabilitative physiotherapy and development sessions.
